Don't you love Autumn
After the punishment of Summer heat I always find Autumn here on the Northern rivers to be the best time of year. This year has been even more enjoyable with the steady delviery of light rain. I have been in the garden a lot. Cleaning away the production of the growing season, mulching and pruning as we pick the citrus. Easy to work in the sun and cool temperatures.
Started lighting the wood stove now and enjoy relaxing in front of the fire with light red these evenings.
Don't you love Autumn?
It seems business remains very slow in our town, and hope post the election and the return to some political stablity, people might be able to stabilise their finances and start to enjoy life a little.
Despite holding out for as long as we could, we have been forced into some salary reductions. Laying off people that have worked with you for long times is one of the hardest things I have had to do ever. I guess that anxiety is nothing compared to losing your income and having to find a new job. I don't think I can remember a time when so many businesses here are closing. I like to believe an upturn is on the way, but I am not sure our business district will ever return to the way things were a decade ago.
Despite all that, the sun is shining and the days are cool, and I remain positive.
